Restoring a CCKWX

Hello all,
do have a CCKWX 353 5XXX A1 - so it should be a early January 1941 truck, that I'm going to restore in the next months.
Would like to get any pictures or other informations to help with the project.
Have the books from Jouedy ( or similar) and from Emile Becker about the GMC, but some details are still not covered properly there.
Questions like - did the early ones have a ignition switch or a key type ignition ( got told once its a Briggs and Stratton one ), what lights switch, how did the handle on the ashtray look like and others may come up during the job.
So if anybody coould give me any help it would very well apeciated.

I think its the second or third installment of the Sunderlin CCKW articles have some info on the CCKWX.

The TM you are looking for (if you don't already have it) is US Army GMC CCKWX-352 Manual TM10-1401 ('41)

No sure if you won this or not.. but the TM just sold on ebay for $89.

No, did'nt get this manual at ebay - did'nt know it existed at all.
The only one I have a copy of is the TM 10-1147.
Also have the later manuals - TM 9-801 and the Parts ORD 9 SNL-G508.

I don't think the TM9 or SNL will be of much help. Mechanically parts (axles, transmissions/transfer, engine etc) should be the same, but there are going to be some significant differences... like the dual oil filter set up for one.

Early CCKWX TMs come up from time to time. I checked ww2-tm.com and found this:

Its in french, but the pictures are going to be good and really, the text of the TMs is pretty un-helpful. For 14.00EUR (its a digital download that works very well) its only $17 dollars.
