Chassis clips for brake/fuel lines

Postby pfarber » Wed Sep 04, 2013 9:18 am

Evidently this is not a GM part any more. None of the usual vendors had it (Jim Carter, Classic Chevy).

Seems like the G506 has its own special brake line clip.

These type are on all 3 chassis I have.. so its not a fluke/random replacement

The tang that comes up.around the line is thinner and comes to a point. None of the clips I have found yet duplicate this.

There was a SMALL glimpse of hope from Americian Classic Truck Parts PN FA-112. It lists as a 1/4 inch fuel/brake line clip:

It seems that the GM J-style clip is the name.. there is a SMALL difference though:

The two small circular holes on the side of the clip are missing. Other than that it seems to be a good match.

http://www.getdiscbrakes.com/rsclp37 seems to located in Pitt, Ohio. I tried their checkout feature and for 6 clips ($6) the UPS shipping was $0. I will be calling them to see what shipping would be.

I can only hope they have a sane shipping price... not the standard $9 UPS minimum shipping charge.

That looks very very close.

Even at $8 each you really only need a few.

I'll have to look though my manuals. One of the early ones had several pages of standard hardware type stuff with illustrations, sizes, part numbers, etc. Will see if I can find it.

The clutchhead screws are available from a number of vendors, including american classic truck parts, classy chevy, usa, the filling station, Jim Carter, etc.
