I believe that this is a TM image of the canvas covered rope weatherstripping that is used around the Chevvy door:
Note the pattern of folds by the red line... I don't think that rubber would look that way when bend around an arch as it is.
While page 289 of the SNL-G-506 goes into exquisite detail about the change in rear window molding/weatherstrip... it's mute on any door weatherstrip change. CV-3657498 is the cargo body door weatherstrip and does not list any superseded parts.
I don't believe that after the great rubber purge of mid 1942 that they would have left 10+ ft of rubber on the chevvy to seal the door.
